Engine 53 Participates in Regional Full Scale Exercise

On Saturday June 11th, Engine 53, as part of the Chester County Fire Task Force (CCFTF), participated in a full-scale exercise sponsored by the Southeastern PA Regional Task Force. The exercise occurred in Upper Merion Twp. Montgomery County and simulated a derailed train tank carrying Bakken crude oil involved in fire. The exercise mobilized fire suppression, HAZMAT, EMS and US&R assets from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties in support of the operation.
Engine 53 operated for several hours. WCFD Chief McDonald also operated as a Deputy Task Force leader for the CCFTF.
